The Bermuda Ball Hockey Winter League season continued in emphatic style at the PCC Hockey Rink, where a frantic double-header produced thirteen goals on the night.
CG 0 Positive Image Dental 3
League leaders Positive Image Dental solidified their position at the summit with a clinical 3-0 shutout of CG. Following a cagey opening period that saw neither side find the net, the frontrunners seized control in the second frame through Chris Allington, whose breakthrough goal broke the deadlock.
The Dental team pulled away in a dominant final period, with Kyle Harvey and Brett Williamson both finding the net to ensure a comfortable three-point haul. The result keeps Positive Image Dental firmly at the top of the standings as they continue their pursuit of the winter crown.
Hamilton Princess 4 Spine & Sport 6
The evening’s second fixture proved to be a high-octane affair as Spine & Sport edged out Hamilton Princess 6-4 in a rollercoaster contest.
Spine & Sport ignited the match in a four-goal opening period, racing into an early lead with strikes from Curran Trenouth, Christopher Merritt, and Kris Abramowski. Hamilton Princess showed their resilience through Kyle Hankins, who pulled a goal back, but Trenouth’s second of the night ensured Spine & Sport maintained their momentum.
The contest shifted in the second period as Hamilton Princess staged a gritty comeback. Goals from Jean-Michael Tremblay and Mathew Benson brought the Princess within touching distance, setting the stage for a high-stakes final period.
However, Spine & Sport repelled the late onslaught. Rob Rego and Merritt both struck in the final frame to put the game beyond reach, despite a second goal from Tremblay for the Princess. The victory provides a vital boost for Spine & Sport as they look to close the gap on the top three in the new year.
