The PCC Hockey Rink bore witness to an extraordinary evening of offensive firepower as 32 goals were hammered home across a high-scoring Bermuda Ball Hockey double-header.
Alexandra Mosher and Positive Image Dental both secured vital victories in matches defined by relentless attacking play and a lack of defensive sentiment.
Alexandra Mosher 11 Spine & Sport 7
The opening clash was a spectacular affair as Alexandra Mosher outlasted Spine & Sport 11-7. The tone was set in a frantic first period where Adam Mattatall, Dave Macphee, and a double from Matt Mcphail gave Mosher the early advantage, despite responses from Kris Abramowski and Curran Trenouth.
Spine & Sport refused to fade in the second frame, narrowing the gap through Christopher Merritt, Johnny Talbot, and further strikes from Trenouth and Abramowski. However, efforts from Mattatall and David Campbell ensured Mosher maintained their foothold on the contest.
The third period belonged entirely to Alexandra Mosher as they pulled away with clinical precision. Mattatall completed a superb individual night by adding another two goals to his tally, while Chris Hodgson, Mike Brennan, and Shannon Gosse all found the net. A late consolation from Abramowski, completing his hat-trick, was not enough to stop Mosher from claiming a high-scoring victory.
Positive Image Dental 9 Hamilton Princess 5
In the evening’s second fixture, Positive Image Dental overcame a resilient Hamilton Princess side to claim a 9-5 win, largely thanks to a dominant performance from Josh Prodger.
The first period saw a flurry of activity as Hamilton Princess took an early lead through a Mathew Benson double and a strike from Richard Campbell. However, Positive Image Dental responded with interest. Prodger netted three times in the opening frame alone, supported by goals from Donald Folkard and Chris Allington, to give his side the edge.
After a surprisingly quiet second period which saw no scoring from either side, the floodgates opened again in the final session. Prodger added his fourth goal of the game, while Louis Sujir and Allington helped extend the lead. Although Campbell completed a hat-trick for Hamilton Princess with two late goals, Sujir struck again to ensure Positive Image Dental walked away with a comfortable win.
