Round One of the 8th Portugal Grand Prix continued under testing conditions in Vilamoura, Day 2 delivered mixed conditions where only one race was completed on Day Two. The latest result has seen Bermuda’s Sebastian Kempe drop down the leaderboard in the highly competitive ILCA 7 fleet.
The prestigious regatta, hosted by Vilamoura Sailing, has been slow to accumulate races, with just two now having been completed in the series. The ILCA 7 fleet features an elite group of young sailors competing at the highest level.
Bermuda’s Sebastian Kempe, who finished 16th in the opening race, faced a tougher outing on Day Two. Kempe finished the lone race of the day in 26th position.
This result pushes him down the overall leaderboard. Kempe now sits in 40th place in the fleet standings, having accumulated a total of 42 points (with 16 and 26 points from his two races).
With racing scheduled to continue, Kempe will be looking for improved results over the coming days to climb back into the upper echelons of the competitive fleet.
