LSU Tigers men's basketball, guided by Associate Head Coach David Patrick, completed a dominant five-game homestand with a convincing 99-73 victory over Omaha at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, advancing their season record to 5-0.
Point guard Dedan Thomas, Jr. was the engine of the Tigers' offense, recording 15 points and 10 assists. This marked the first double-figure assist game for an LSU player since 2022. Thomas also secured his first points-assist double-double since joining LSU, accomplishing the feat without committing a single turnover in 29 minutes.
The victory was a collective effort, with five Tigers scoring in double figures. Max Mackinnon led the scoring with a game-high 22 points, hitting six three-pointers. The Tigers' offense was red-hot, sinking 15 three-pointers in the game. Other key scorers included Mike Nwoko (14 points), P.J. Carter (12 points), and Jalen Reed (11 points).
LSU is now 5-0 as they head to the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Florida. The two-night tournament begins on Friday, November 28th, where the Tigers will face Drake in the first round.
This tournament starts a demanding stretch of five games away from Baton Rouge. This run includes four neutral site games, with the ACC/SEC Challenge contest at Boston College splitting the four neutral contests.
