Netball National Team Spotlight Keizhari P.J Knight

www.islandstats.com continues the spotlight on the Bermuda Netball National Team selected for the Battle of the Isles tournament being held in St. Eustatius and St. Maarten, October 21st – 26th 2025.

Given the team has been selected well in advance of the tournament, we will give you our viewers the opportunity to help celebrate the athletes prior to them representing Bermuda.

We continue the series today with Keizhari Knight

Your Full Name: Keizhari P.J Knight

Your Team/Club: Phoenix Netball Club

If you could have a superpower, what would it be? Teleportation, but it depends on the logistics, can I use it to travel?

How did you first get into your sport?
I started playing netball in middle school under my coach Erika Russell

Who has been your biggest inspiration or role model, both in and out of your sport?
My coaches and teammates from both Phoenix Netball and The National Training Team. Because they push to be their best and see potential that you may not see yourself.

What is the most valuable lesson your sport has taught you?
Patience, winning comes with practice and taking a lot of licks from older teams that had way more experience. you don’t become a great player overnight.

Tell us about your proudest moment as an athlete so far.
Being able to represent my country!

Describe your training regimen. What does a typical week look like for you?
I go to the gym twice a week on my own, and once a week with the team. and netball training twice a week. And of course, physiotherapy.

What’s your game-day routine? Any specific superstitions or rituals you have to follow?
I do not really have a routine, but I enjoy listening to really loud music in my car before a game.

What goes through your mind in the final moments of a close game? SHOOT THE BALL

How do you handle a tough loss or a disappointing performance?
Losses allow proper reflection. I feel as though a tough loss can prompt a major lesson and allow you to better yourself. Practice self-compassion and come back better.

What's your go-to activity when you're not training or competing?
I enjoy reading and photography but also spending time and travelling with my friends

If you weren't an athlete, what would you be doing?
Outside of being an athlete I am a Laboratory Technician. I would continue to be a scientist

What's one thing most people don't know about you? IYKYK : D . I’m very good at the game never have I ever!

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party (can be anyone, living or historical)?
My best friends and God... we have A LOT to talk about. And also, I’m shy and not a people person.

What advice would you give to a young person aspiring to follow in your footsteps?
Don’t be discouraged at every challenge you or team may face. Be able to take constructive criticism from your coaches. They have your best interest in mind. And as previously said greatness isn’t built overnight.

What's one thing you hope to achieve in the next five years, both in your sport and in life?
In my sport I would like to continue to represent my country and help us to achieve a great world ranking. In life I would like to build my family in love and stability. Also, I would love to create some tall athletes for Bermuda.
