How did you first get into your sport? For as long as I can remember, my mom’s dedication to netball—both as a player and a coach—inspired me. Watching her, along with older friends and future teammates, sparked my own desire to play.
Who has been your biggest inspiration or role model, both in and out of your sport? My mom I wouldn’t be the person or player I am without her. She has motivated me and provided me with every opportunity that I could imagine. I am immensely grateful.
What is the most valuable lesson your sport has taught you? Dedication and discipline can take you further than sheer talent or luck. I remember being doubted for my age and height—especially when playing Goal Attack—but those doubts motivated me to improve. I'm proud that I embraced the hard work instead of shying away from it.
What goes through your mind in the final moments of a close game or race? In the final moments of a close game or race, I focus on staying calm and sticking to what I’ve trained for. It’s about execution, not overthinking. I just try to stay present, trust my preparation, and give everything I’ve got.
How do you handle a tough loss or a disappointing performance? I try not to let a tough loss or disappointing performance keep me down for long. I take time to reset by spending time with friends to lift my spirits and enjoying a good meal—something that always helps improve my mood. Then I refocus and look at what I can learn from the experience to come back stronger.
What's your go-to activity when you're not training or competing? I would definitely say sleeping but I’ve been reading a lot recently as well. I also enjoy writing when I have time.
If you weren't an athlete, what would you be doing? Currently, I have been working as an Addiction Counsellor which I have been enjoying. I would say that working in the field of Psychology is what I plan to do outside of athletics.
What's one thing most people don't know about you? Most people don’t know that I enjoy singing, writing poetry, and expressing myself through fashion — it’s my creative outlet beyond sport.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party (can be anyone, living or historical)? 2pac, assata shakur and erykah badu
What advice would you give to a young person aspiring to follow in your footsteps? Be consistent, stay patient, and don’t be afraid to fail. Success takes time, but if you show up every day with passion and discipline, you’ll keep moving forward. Believe in yourself, even when it’s tough.
What's one thing you hope to achieve in the next five years, both in your sport and in life? In the next five years, I hope to earn my doctorate in clinical psychology while continuing to play netball at a high level. My goal is to grow both academically and athletically, balancing my passion for mental health with my love for the sport.
Finish this sentence: "My sport means..." My sport means growth, resilience, and a place where I can challenge myself and feel the most grounded.
