The Bermuda Women’s National Volleyball team has stormed through the preliminary rounds of the 2025 ECVA Women’s Final Four tournament, securing an undefeated record with two more hard-fought victories over the host nation and Saint Lucia. The team is now in a commanding position in their pursuit of the title and a spot in the 2026 NORCECA Panamerican Cup.
In a challenging match against the host nation, Antigua and Barbuda, Bermuda showcased resilience to claim a 3-1 victory (25-23, 26-24, 20-25, 25-17). Bermuda started strongly but faced stiff competition, particularly in the nail-biting second set which they clinched 26-24. Antigua’s tenacity saw them take the third set, but Bermuda's young squad rallied in the fourth to secure their second win of the tournament.
The victory was powered by the offensive output of Kayley Hamilton, who led the team with 16 points.
Bermuda's winning run continued in a dramatic five-set thriller against Saint Lucia in Match 5 of the tournament, winning 3-2.
Bermuda took a commanding 2-0 lead, winning the first two sets 25-16 and 25-19. However, Saint Lucia refused to surrender, battling back to win the third set 25-23 and drawing the match level at 2-2 with a hard-fought 27-25 win in the fourth.
With the match on the line, Bermuda regrouped and demonstrated superior composure in the decisive fifth set, claiming the victory 15-11. Natalie Gazzard stepped up as the team’s leading scorer in the high-stakes match, tallying 13 points.
These back-to-back victories, following their opening sweep of Grenada, ensured Bermuda's perfect record in the ECVA Women's Final Four, positioning them strongly for the medal matches as the tournament concludes.
