The Bermuda Volleyball Association (BVA) is set to host a landmark event this weekend, with the first-ever National Beach Volleyball Championships taking place on Saturday at Coral Beach.
The historic tournament, which coincides with the BVA's 50th Anniversary, marks a significant milestone for the sport on the island. The event will bring together Bermuda's top male and female beach volleyball athletes, many of whom are members of the national teams, all competing for the prestigious title of National Champion.
Spectators are invited to attend and witness a full day of elite competition, with a dedicated centre court set up to showcase the top matches. Event organiser Meagan McPeek expressed her excitement, stating, "This is a celebration of the incredible growth of beach volleyball in Bermuda. It’s an opportunity for our top athletes to shine and a chance for the community to come together and support the sport at a national level."
The tournament promises a high-energy atmosphere with music, prizes, and a vibrant beachside crowd. The BVA is also calling for volunteers to assist with the event, with all members of the community welcome to help.
