Bermudian golfers Sienna Mosquera, Oliver Betschart, and Dylan Muso were all back in action at the International Optimist Junior Golf Tournament, with Betschart continuing his impressive form to move into a share of the lead.
Oliver Betschart, competing in the Boy's 16-18 Age Group Division, delivered another strong performance on the Optimist Blue Monster Golf Course. He carded a second-round 1-under par 71, which propelled him into a three-way tie for first place. Betschart's consistent play sees him at 2-under par overall after two rounds, with his latest scorecard featuring two birdies, fifteen pars, and just one bogey.
In the same age group, Dylan Muso faced a tougher day on the Optimist Blue Monster Course, shooting a 7-over par 79. His round included two birdies and twelve pars, but was hampered by four bogeys, one double bogey, and one triple bogey. Muso's two-round total of 15-over par meant he missed the cut for the main competition and will now compete in the 'Clash of the Challengers'.
Meanwhile, Sienna Mosquera, playing in the Girls 15-18 Age Group Division on the Optimist Red Tiger Course, showed resilience by bouncing back from her first-round score. She posted a much-improved second-round 3-over par 75, which saw her end the day tied for 18th position at 12-over par overall. Mosquera's second round was highlighted by three birdies, ten pars, four bogeys, and one double bogey.
The Bermudian contingent continues to gain valuable experience on the international junior golf circuit, with Betschart now firmly in contention for top honours.
