Bermudian junior golfer Lewis MacFarlane has concluded his campaign at the prestigious International Optimist Junior Golf Tournament, held on the challenging Blue Monster Course at Trump Doral. Competing in the Boy's 12 to 13 Age Group Division, MacFarlane finished T42nd after three rounds, carding a total of 30-over par.
MacFarlane's opening round saw him post a 13-over par 85. This round included one Birdie and seven Pars, but also eight Bogeys, one Double Bogey, and one Quadruple Bogey, highlighting the demanding nature of the course.
His best performance came in the second round, where he significantly improved to shoot a 6-over par 78. This impressive effort featured three Birdies, seven Pars, seven Bogeys, and one Double Bogey, demonstrating his ability to bounce back and adapt.
In his third and final round, MacFarlane shot an 11-over Par 83, which included ten pars, five Bogeys, and three Double Bogeys.
While the final standing may not reflect his full potential, the experience of competing on a world-renowned course like the Blue Monster against top international junior talent will be invaluable for MacFarlane's development.
