Day three of the Island Games in Orkney proved to be a landmark occasion for Bermuda, as the island nation secured its first medals of the competition in Squash, alongside a record-breaking performance on the golf course.

Squash Delivers First Medals

Bermuda's medal drought ended on the squash courts, where Taylor Carrick delivered a commendable performance to claim the Silver Medal in the Men's Singles event. Carrick battled valiantly in the final but ultimately went down to Orkney's Finlay Scott in a tight contest, with scores of 12-10, 11-5, 11-9. This silver marks a significant achievement and sets a positive tone for Bermuda's medal aspirations.

Golfers Shine with Record-Breaking Round

The golf course witnessed a truly exceptional day for Bermuda, particularly in the Ladies Individual event. Sienna Mosquera etched her name into the Island Games record books by firing a sensational second-round 65, breaking the previous course record of 67. The Bermuda Men's Under 23 team also maintained their unbeaten record, fighting back from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Ynys Môn. Mason Christian initiated the comeback with a goal in the 22nd minute, before Jakeem Jennings dramatically equalised in the first minute of stoppage time to snatch a crucial point.
