The 2025 Island Games officially got underway today with a vibrant opening ceremony, and Bermuda's contingent of athletes and officials are proudly taking part in the biennial multi-sport event.
More than 60 athletes are representing Bermuda across seven sports: athletics, badminton, bowls, golf, squash, triathlon, and football. They join over 2,000 athletes from 24 island groups worldwide, all converging on Orkney for what promises to be a week of intense competition and camaraderie across 12 sports.
This edition of the Games holds particular significance as it marks the first time in the event's 40-year history that Orkney has had the privilege of playing host. Bermuda will be looking to build on its strong Island Games history as the competitions get into full swing.
