The Bermuda Netball Association’s Summer League season continued last night at Bernard's Park, serving up a compact but thrilling evening of action with matches in both the Women's and Co-ed Divisions.
In the Women's Division, the Phoenix Flames delivered a dominant performance, securing a convincing 28-15 victory over the Devonshire Recreation Club. The Flames' triumph was largely thanks to an outstanding display from MVP Eshé Grant, who netted an impressive 18 goals. Support came from Ebonie Cox with 9 goals and Jaya Dillas contributing one. Nevaeh Thompson-Swan was named the Phoenix Flames' Best Attacker, while Uni Simmons earned the Best Defender accolade.
For the Devonshire Recreation Club, Charlene Bogle led their scoring with 7 goals, while Miesha Greaves and MVP Demiqua Daniels each added 4. Zariah Amory was recognised as their Best Attacker, and Gina Benjamin their Best Defender.
The lone Co-ed Division match proved to be a nail-biter, with Renre narrowly edging out the Goal Diggers in a tight 17-16 contest. Renre's victory was spearheaded by MVP Tai Cedenio, who contributed 9 goals, ably supported by Best Attacker Aaron Woods with 8 goals. Sarafina Woolridge-Burns was named Renre's Best Defender.
The Goal Diggers saw Coriah Simmons score 10 goals, with Jaya Dillas adding 6. Kianté Lightbourne was their Best Attacker, Rakeem Deshields the Best Defender, and Alex Mason was named the team's MVP.
