The Bermuda Men’s National Basketball team has successfully concluded their development tour in the Dominican Republic, returning with an impressive 3-1 record – a clear testament to their progress and competitive spirit.
Head Coach Sullivan Phillips will be live on Islandstats.com, at 8 pm to discuss the tour in detail and more.
The Senior Men's National team began their tour strongly, securing a convincing 56-40 win over local club team Baez. Their only defeat came in a hard-fought encounter against Club Million, where they fell narrowly by 69-66.
However, the team quickly bounced back, securing a monumental 70-68 victory over the Dominican Republic’s Under-19 national team – a significant achievement against a highly-regarded opponent. They then closed out their tour with another tight contest, claiming a 56-54 victory.
The 3-1 record against strong competition from a basketball-rich nation like the Dominican Republic underscores the value of this development initiative. Coach Phillips's insights tonight are expected to shed light on the team's growth, individual performances, and the strategic takeaways from this successful tour as they look towards future international competitions.
