Bermuda's Andre Lambe has delivered the performance of his career, dominating Kenzo Casteneda in Galveston to be crowned the new American Boxing Organisation (ABO) Regional Welterweight Champion.
Stepping into the ring for what was billed as his toughest test to date, Lambe showcased exceptional skill and control from the opening bell to the final round. The Bermudian left no doubt in the judges' minds, with all three scoring the fight 78-74 in his favour, a testament to his comprehensive dominance throughout the contest.
Before the fight, Lambe had taken to social media, expressing both his faith and his pride in representing his homeland. "First and foremost, all glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ — through every round of training, every early morning, every sacrifice, He’s been with me. None of this would be possible without Him," he posted.
He then added a powerful message about his national pride: "Tonight, I proudly represent my country Bermuda on the big screen. I carry the pride of my people into that ring and I’m ready to give everything I’ve got.”
And he certainly delivered on that promise. This victory not only secures Lambe his first regional title but also marks a significant step forward in his professional boxing career, establishing him as a force to be reckoned with in the welterweight division. The Bermudian boxing fraternity will be celebrating this triumphant performance.
