The Bermuda Men’s National Basketball team has successfully concluded their development tour in the Dominican Republic with a tight 56-54 victory, capping off an impressive 3-1 record for the tour.
The narrow win in their final game underscores the competitive nature of their matches against Dominican Republic opposition. Jonathan Lowe led Bermuda in scoring with 16 points, while Jaelen Williams and Malachi Scott both contributed 14 points, showcasing their consistent offensive impact.
Reflecting on the tour, a team representative stated, "The team is vastly improving. We played against very tough competition, but all in all, the guys got better each game and with new faces in the fold it's always good to create new success."
This 3-1 record against strong competition from a basketball-rich nation like the Dominican Republic marks a significant step forward for the Bermuda Senior Men's National team program. The integration of new players and the overall improvement noted by the team will be crucial as they continue their development towards future international tournaments, including the goal of participating in the FIBA AmeriCup pre-qualifying tournament in July 2026.
