Dominant Displays & Close Contests as League Continues

Action in the Bermuda Netball Association’s Summer League season resumed with a total of five captivating games played across the Women’s and Co-ed Divisions at Bernard’s Park.

The evening saw some comprehensive victories alongside fiercely contested battles, providing plenty of entertainment for the netball enthusiasts.

Women's Division: Flames, DRC, and Lady Stars Victorious

In the opening match of the Women’s Division, the Phoenix Flames delivered a commanding performance, defeating K-net Assets 44-12.

MVP Eshe' Grant was the star of the show for the Flames, netting an impressive 37 goals. Sydney Santos added 4 goals and Krishay Tucker scored 3. Nevaeh Swan was named the Best Attacker, while Dominique Richardson earned Best Defender honours for the Phoenix Flames. For K-net Assets, Best Attacker Jahkenya Trott led their scoring with 9 goals, supported by Denise Truter's 3. Khianda Pearman-Watson was their Best Defender, and Luisina Medran was named MVP.

The second match in the division saw Devonshire Recreation Club put in a dominant display, outscoring Law & Disorder 48-6.

Best Attacker Miesha Greaves led the scoring for Devonshire Recreation Club with 22 goals, while MVP Kristin Holman added 16. Kessiah Jackson contributed 6 goals and Jamir Hatherley scored 4. Tina Wall was named the Best Defender for DRC. For Law & Disorder, MVP Rachel Nightingale scored 5 goals, with Tseda Simmons adding one. Terita Flood was their Best Attacker, and Kiera Trott the Best Defender.

The final Women’s Division match of the evening was a closer affair, with the Lady Stars defeating PHC 25-17.

Lady Stars' MVP Julesa Robinson spearheaded their victory with 16 goals, ably supported by Marissa Brangman who added 9 goals. Kaylee Lema was named the Best Attacker, and Zindzi Swan the Best Defender for Lady Stars. For PHC, Sonja Townsend scored 14 goals, with Terita Bean adding the other 3. Melissa Burrows was named Best Attacker, while Debre Evans earned both Best Defender and MVP accolades for PHC.

Co-Ed Division: Bean Counting Netballerz and BHB Secure Wins

In the Co-ed Division opener, the Bean Counting Netballerz defeated RenRe 18-9.

Best Attacker Jahkenya Trott led the Bean Counting Netballerz to victory with 12 goals, while Jahtuere Trott added the remaining 6. Marmus Slabbert was named both the Best Defender and MVP for the winning side. RenRe saw Best Attacker Chelzea Somner score 4 goals, Kiarra Francis add 3, and MVP David Oten net twice. Euan Rutherford was their Best Defender.

In the final match of the night, BHB delivered a strong performance to defeat the Front Street Mafia 24-12.

BHB's Best Attacker Sheldon Bahadosingh was prolific, scoring 15 goals, while Kristin Holman added 9. Tina Wall was named the Best Defender, and Demiqua Daniels the MVP for BHB. The Front Street Mafia's scoring was led by MVP Jasmine Mapp with 8 goals, and Best Attacker Nathan Clarke with 4. Jesse Marshall was named their Best Defender.

Another action-packed night at Bernard's Park highlighted the competitive and dynamic nature of the Bermuda Netball Association's Summer League season.
