Phoenix Flames & Storm Chasers Shine in Summer League

Bernard's Park once again played host to another evening of exciting netball action as the Bermuda Netball Association's Summer League continued with three matches across the Women's and Co-Ed Divisions.

The enthusiastic crowd witnessed closely fought contests and impressive individual performances under the lights.

Phoenix Flames Edge Lady Stars in Women's Division Clash

The lone match in the Women's Division saw Phoenix Flames secure a hard-fought 27-18 victory over Lady Stars.

MVP Eshe Grant led the scoring for the Phoenix Flames with an impressive 14 goals, while Best Defender Uni Simmons contributed 9 goals, and Jaya Dillas added 4. Caillia Joel was recognized as the Phoenix Flames' Best Attacker. For the Lady Stars, Julesa Robinson led their scoring with 9 goals, while Best Attacker Marissa Brangman added 7, and Kim Thompson scored twice. Chiaje Rudo was named Lady Stars' Best Defender, and Kacee Simons earned the MVP award despite the loss.

Co-Ed Division Delivers Close Encounters and a Dominant Display

The Co-Ed Division opened with a closely contested match that saw Bean Counting Netballerz edge out Front Street Mafia 21-16.

Best Attacker Jahkenya Trott led the Bean Counting Netballerz to victory with 13 goals, supported by Jahtuere Trott who added 7, and Denise Truter with a single goal. Osei Agyapong was named the Best Defender, and Allison King was the MVP for the winning team. For the Front Street Mafia, Charlotte Evans netted 10 goals, with Jasmine Mapp adding the other 6. Kyle Godfrey was their Best Attacker, Jason Savoury the Best Defender, and Ciara Izzy the MVP.

The final match of the evening saw a reversal of fortunes as Storm Chasers proved too strong for Goal Diggers, securing a decisive 31-19 victory.

The Storm Chasers saw MVP Antione Williams score 24 goals, with Nabiilah Nasir adding 5, and Zakiyah Durham scoring 3. Zariah Amory was their Best Attacker, and Debre Evans the Best Defender. The Best Defender Zhanae Simmons led the scoring for the Goal Diggers with 10 goals, while Paul Simons added 6, and Coriah Simmons scored three times. Cecoy Robinson was named the Best Attacker, and Rakeem Deshields earned the MVP award for the Goal Diggers.

Another night of thrilling netball action at Bernard's Park highlighted the competitive nature of the Bermuda Netball Association's Summer League.
