The Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) unveiled the highly anticipated 2025 Davis Cup team, poised to represent the island nation in the fiercely competitive Davis Cup Americas Group III competition.

This prestigious international tennis event is scheduled to unfold during the week of June 9th, 2025, in the vibrant city of San Jose, Costa Rica. The exclusive Costa Rica Country Club, renowned for its top-tier hard-court facilities, will serve as the battleground for this thrilling display of regional tennis prowess.

For the third consecutive year, Bermuda finds itself in a challenging yet exhilarating position, confronting nations consistently ranked significantly higher within the Americas region. This formidable challenge is further amplified by the potential presence of players ranked within the top 200-300 globally, promising an intense level of competition. The esteemed roster of participating nations in this year's Group III event includes Aruba, Bermuda, Bolivia, Honduras, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Venezuela, and Costa Rica, the host nation.

Throughout the demanding week-long tournament, the competing teams will be strategically divided into two groups, each vying for the coveted opportunity of promotion into Group II, a testament to their dedication and skill.

A notable leadership transition marks this year's campaign, as Ricky Mallory Jr. steps back into the pivotal role of Captain, resuming the mantle after Steve Bean's successful tenure in 2024.

The 2025 Bermuda Davis Cup team is a compelling blend of collegiate talent and seasoned national players. The team is led by Trey Mallory, who is fresh off a triumphant Division I conference-winning season, demonstrating exceptional form and momentum. He is joined by Daniel Phillips, who has also recently concluded a commendable Division I tennis season, bringing his collegiate experience to the team. The team is completed with the addition of Bermuda's formidable number one player, Tariq Simons, and the skilled number two, Jack Keyes.

Providing crucial support both on and off the court will be the team's physio and former Bermuda Davis Cup player, Jenson Bascome, alongside a passionate contingent of loyal Bermuda supporters, whose unwavering encouragement will undoubtedly serve as a significant morale boost.

This year's Davis Cup promises to be another memorable week of high-stakes tennis, presenting a rigorous yet invaluable test for the Bermuda team. The entire executive committee and membership of the BLTA extend their heartfelt wishes for immense success to the team throughout this challenging and exciting campaign.

The team is scheduled to depart Bermuda on June 5th, allowing ample time for acclimatization and final preparations before the rigorous competition commences. The BLTA remains confident in the team's ability to rise to the occasion, embody the spirit of Bermudian sportsmanship, and deliver a performance that makes the island proud.
