Bermudian karter Scott Barnes finished in a strong second place in the Masters Shifter Class Final at the SKUSA Spring Nationals, held at the Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati in Batavia, Ohio.
Barnes had demonstrated his competitive pace throughout the qualifying stages, setting the third-fastest time with a lap of 54.021 seconds on his third lap.
In the Pre-Final race, Barnes engaged in a close battle with eventual winner Scott Presti. Presti clocked a winning time of 9 minutes and 5.317 seconds over the ten-lap race, with Barnes finishing just behind in second place with a time of 9 minutes and 6.162 seconds.
The Final saw another tight contest between Barnes and Presti. Over the 20-lap race, Barnes once again finished in the runner-up position, crossing the line in a time of 18 minutes and 8.390 seconds, with Presti taking the victory.
Securing second place at the SKUSA Spring Nationals, a significant event on the karting calendar, represents a strong performance for Scott Barnes in the competitive Masters Shifter Class.
