Bermudian motorcycle racer Aeziah Divine endured a frustrating end to the second race of Round 2 in the R&G British Talent Cup at the iconic Silverstone circuit. After a promising start, an unfortunate incident and a subsequent mistake brought his race to a premature conclusion.
Starting from 22nd on the grid, Divine made a strong getaway and climbed to 16th position in the early stages of the race. However, his progress was abruptly halted when a rider he was closely following slid out in front of him. In a quick reaction to avoid a collision with the fallen rider and bike, Divine was forced off track and into the gravel.
This excursion into the gravel resulted in him dropping back down the order as the group of riders behind him managed to pass while he was navigating his way back onto the tarmac. Showing impressive determination, Divine managed to keep his bike upright and rejoined the race, battling his way back up to 16th position once more.
Unfortunately, while pushing hard to close the gap to the riders ahead, Divine then suffered his own mishap, striking the front end and ultimately ending his race prematurely.
Despite the disappointing conclusion to his Silverstone weekend, Divine remained upbeat, focusing on the positives he could take away from the experience. He stated, “An unlucky end to the weekend but lots of positives to take away. It was an incredible experience being back racing alongside MotoGP at Silverstone. I can’t wait to build off of this momentum over the next few weeks before Snetterton.” Divine's resilience and focus on learning from the weekend will be key as he looks ahead to the next round of the British Talent Cup.
