Narraway Shines in Santa Quiteria Trophy in Spain

Team El Tenerife – Bike Point – La Sede showcased resilience and determination in the 46th edition of the Santa Quiteria Trophy, a premier cycling event held in Higueruela, Albacete. Covering a challenging 162-kilometre course, the race attracted top Elite and Under-23 teams from across Spain, and delivered an exciting day of racing as part of the town's annual patron saint festivities.

Bermudian cyclist Nicholas Narraway continued his impressive form, emerging once again as the standout rider for his team. After just 25 km into the race, Narraway launched a bold attack, surging ahead with a remarkable change of pace that placed him in the front group and saw him solo lead significant sections of the circuit. His efforts paid off as he secured a spot in the top 13 finishers—a commendable result in a highly competitive field of more than 100 riders.

The 162 km race comprised three laps of a figure-eight course, with five intermediate passes through the town of Higueruela. Riders faced mountain classification points at kilometres 29 and 83, and intermediate sprints at kilometres 65 and 108, adding layers of strategy and intensity to the race.

Organised for the second time by the Ontur Cycling Club, with support from the Higueruela City Council and the Albacete Provincial Council, the Santa Quiteria Trophy has continued to grow in stature, drawing elite teams such as Natural Greatness Rali ALÉ, High Level Gsport, Valverde Team Ricardo Fuentes, and Narraway’s own Tenerife – Bike Point – La Sede.

The event not only celebrates competitive cycling but also serves as a key platform for developing young riders aiming to turn professional. The race coincides with the town’s patron saint celebrations, transforming the competition and awards ceremony into a festive community occasion.

As Narraway continues to make his mark on the European circuit, his performance in Higueruela underscores his rising potential and the growing presence of Bermudian talent on the international cycling stage.
