Bermudian motorcycle racer Aeziah Divine has concluded his participation in Round 1 of the 2025 R&G British Talent Cup season at Donington Park. The weekend presented a challenging start to the campaign for the young rider.
Qualifying proved to be a tough session for Divine. Despite showing promising pace in certain sections of the track, a series of small errors prevented him from putting together a consistently fast lap. As a result, he qualified in 23rd position out of a grid of 26 riders.
In Race 1, Divine demonstrated his racing spirit, engaging in some spirited battles on track. He made a positive start, gaining several positions in the opening laps and ultimately finishing the race in 21st place, a slight improvement from his grid slot.
Race 2 saw Divine get off to a strong start, moving up the order in the initial stages. However, a few laps into the race, an incident involving another rider impacted his progress. A rider in his group cut the chicane, forcing Divine and another competitor wide. This unfortunately led to both riders losing touch with the group ahead. Despite this setback, Divine showed his potential by setting his personal best lap time of the weekend, dropping down to a mid 1 minute 42 seconds. He ultimately finished the second race in 17th position.
Reflecting on his weekend at Donington Park, Divine remained positive, stating, "Overall I was really happy with the weekend. There’s still a lot to improve on but we know what those areas are and are confident that we can work together to push further ahead." This positive outlook and identification of areas for improvement will be crucial as Divine progresses through the 2025 R&G British Talent Cup season.
