The Bermuda Netball Association's 2024/25 Winter League season culminated in a day of exciting All-Star matches held at Bermuda College, showcasing the talent across all age groups.
The Under 11 All-Star game saw a dominant performance from the Blue Team, who defeated the Pink Team 12-6. Taylor Kyme led the Blue Team's attack with four goals, supported by Sophia Odouri (3), Alaysia Watson (2), A’Mariss Dyer (1), and Honor White (1). For the Pink Team, Tamirra Richardson netted three goals, Asia Burt added two, and Reegan Lightbourne scored once. Quin Burgess from the victorious Blue Team was named the game's MVP.
The Under 14 match-up also resulted in a Blue Team victory, edging out the Pink Team 13-10. S’mai Tyrell led the scoring for the Blue Team with an impressive seven goals, while Zyari Lawrence contributed six. Jaeda Morgan-Dill led the Pink Team with eight goals, with Dani Brown and Nala Richardson each adding a single goal. The MVP award went to Kse Jennings from the Blue Team.
The Under 18 All-Star game saw the Pink Team emerge victorious with a 27-16 win over the Blue Team. Hailey Trott, who was named the match MVP, led the Pink Team's scoring with 11 goals, supported by Cindi-Anna Darrell (9) and Kammie Mills (7). For the Blue Team, Malaysia Furbert scored five goals, Jazya Brimmer-Peets and Sanaa Grant each netted four, and Akina Williams added three.
The Senior/Celebrity All-Star matches provided further entertainment. In a unique "Coaches vs. 18&U" clash, the Coaches proved too strong, winning 51-21. Notable scorers for the Coaches included Antoine (Twon) Williams (18) and Debbie DeShields (11), while E’Rynn Paynter led the 18&Us with 20 goals.
The Celebrity All-Star game saw Celebrity Blue defeat Celebrity Pink 22-18. Jahtuere Trott and Kimale Evans each scored 11 goals for the Blue Team, while Xavier James (4) and Jordyn Morris (9) led the Pink Team. Idris Sharieff was named MVP for Celebrity Blue, with Xavier James also picking up the MVP award for Celebrity Pink.
The Senior All-Star match provided a thrilling conclusion to the day, with the Blue Team narrowly defeating the Pink Team 34-33 in a closely fought contest. Nabiilah Nasir led the Blue Team's scoring with 20 goals, while Jahkenya Trott netted an impressive 23 goals for the Pink Team. Kiante Lightbourne from the Pink Team was named the Senior All-Star match MVP.
The All-Star games provided a fitting end to an exciting winter netball season, celebrating the talent and passion for the sport across Bermuda.
