Somerset Cricket Club will indeed be making at least one change to their 2007 Cup Match Classic Team. Dion Stovell who made his debut in the 2006 Classic will be sideline unless he make a recovery from a broken ankle.
Stovell broke his ankle while playing for the Kings in the Island Soccer League. Stovell who scored 12 ISL goals was tackled from behind as he attempted to score, and as a result of the tackle stovell lay on the National Stadium ground in obvious pain. Stovell was taken to hospital via ambulance and will now wait to see a specialist before his operation.
The Southampton Rangers & Somerset Cricket Club opener was out without scoring in Somerset first inning last year when he was trapped LBW by George O’Brien, and Stovell was caught by Charlie Marshall off O’Brien for 12 in the second inning.
Stovell also played for the Somerset Trojans in the 2006/07 soccer season, Stovell scored six times during league play for the Trojans.
