Bermuda Cricket Board CEO Neil Speight was part of the ICC Development Committee that met in Bangkok, Thailand on May 15th and 16th.
The Committee, noted the constructive progress of the Pepsi ICC Development Programme in implementing the ICC's global strategy to build A Bigger, Better Global Game.
They made a number of recommendations to the ICC Chief Executives' Committee meeting in June, including the format for the ICC Women's World Cup 2013, the ICC World T20 Qualifier 2013 and the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2014.
The Committee appointed Malaysia as hosts of Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 4, and Bermuda, subject to agreeing to budget proposals, as hosts of Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 3. Both events form part of ICC's qualification structure into the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
They received updates on progress with implementation of the ICC Females in World Cricket Strategy and the ICC High Performance Programme.
They considered financial and various development reports, in particular, on developments in USA and China
The Committee received a report from the MCC on its development activities and adopted a safety and security protocol to deal with security matters at development events
Committee members also attended a special demonstration of Thailand's top junior boys and girls teams, while together with the Cricket Association of Thailand, ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat and ICC Global Development Manager Tim Anderson met with officials of the Thai Olympic Committee, Thai Sports Ministry and Thai Education Ministry.
