Most elite level swimmers have been competing throughout this season with their focus on being at their best for this meet. This is the opportunity to shave and taper and match themselves against the very best.
Bermuda’s Kiera Aitken, Roy-Allan Burch and Julian Fletcher have been a part of this process and are looking forward to the test. The Trio along with coach ben Smith and Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association President Tim Petty arrived on the 15th of July to make sure that the athletes were accustomed to the time change, food changes and were physically prepared after the long travel.
Smith said, “They have looked very strong in the practices and are focused on swimming best performances.”
Fletcher, after having a strong season at SMU has been focused on being ready to race at his best here in Shanghai. He will be competing in the 100 Breaststroke on Day 1 of the competition on July 24th and in the 50 Breaststroke on Day 3 July 26th.
