Rory Caslin - Irish Optimist National Championship
Caslin is taking part in the Irish Optimist National Championship, Waterford Harbor Yacht Club, Dunmore East, Co. Waterford. Caslin fell two places from 9th to 11th overall after six races.
Caslin finished the first race of the second day in 8th and then followed that performance with a 10th place finish in the 61 Optimist boat Fleet. The next race saw Caslin finish 31st a race that he is allowed to throw out and then in the fourth and final race of the day Caslin finished 20th.
Caslin ended the day with 58 points.
Cooper & Wollmann’s @ CORK International Regatta, Kingston, Canada
Approximately 480 boats are competing in various classes at the CORK International Regatta, Kingston, Canada.
Bermuda has 3 sailors in the 96 boat Fleet Optimist Class and 1 in the 98 boat Fleet Club 420 Class.
After ten races in the Optimist Class in very windy conditions and big seas the Bermuda sailors are performing very well. Ellie Wollmann is leading the Bermuda team and is in 3rd place overall with 39 points. Ellie Wollmann finished the first races of the day in 29th place, before finishing 9th in the next race, she then finished 21st before finishing in 9th place in the final race of the day.
Ceci Wollmann marched up the standing from 23rd to 17th with 135 points. Ceci Wollmann has finishes of 34th, 17th, 13th and 3rd, while younger brother Mickey Wollmann also climbed the standings from 29th to 27th place overall and leading the white fleet 10 and under Division. Mickey Wollmann started off with a 17th place finish and then had finishes of 15th, 34th and 14th.
The Club 420 Class was only able to run one race, Mackenzie Cooper finds himself 6th overall with 40 points. Cooper finished the only race of the day in 4th place.
