Stephen Dickinson and his crew Martin Finnegan sailed away with the Lee Hayward Cup in Comet Racing on the Great Sound.
In 12 to 18 knots Dickinson and Finnegan took on the likes of Scott Fox and his crew Stefan Furbert, Rudy Bailey and his crew Coplan Smith, Gladwin Lambert and his crew Greg Proctor and Tre Johnville and his crew George Hayward.
Dickinson warmed up for the defense of his Flag Pole to Flag Pole title which will take place on Sunday May 23rd with the overall win in the three race series. Dickinson got off to a bad start finishing third behind Fox and Bailey, with Lambert finishing 4th and Johnville fifth.
Bailey went one better when he finished race Two in first place holding off a strong challenge from Dickinson, with Lambert sailing into third place Fox finished fourth and Johnville finished 5th.
In the final race of the day, Dickinson sailed pass the fleet and never looked back sailing to victory, with Fox finishing second and Lambert finished third, Bailey finished fourth and Johnville finished fifth, with the win Dickinson finished with 6 points, while both Fox and Bailey finished with 7, with Fox taking 2nd place, Lambert finished fourth and Johnville finished fifth.
