Match Abandoned after 70 Minutes

With St. David’s leading 4 – 0 this match at BAA Field was abandoned after 70 minutes. Corey Richardson had given St. David’s the lead in the 6th minute when he converted from the penalty spot, ten minutes later Dejuan Paynter doubled the lead. St. David’s went up 3 – 0 in the 48th minute when Shea Pitcher scored the first of his two goals. Pitcher scored again in the 67th minute and then three minutes later the drama began.
An appeal for a St. David’s penalty was turned down by match official Wendy Woodley who was then the target of water bottles thrown on the field, although the bottles did not hit the official she deemed the match unsafe to continue thus abandoning the match for the safety of the officials, players and spectators.

After a scoreless first half at the Devonshire Rec. Derek Brangman scored the lone goal of the game to give Wolves the 1 – 0 win over visiting Ireland Rangers.
