The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) Disciplinary Committee handed out total of 8 sanctions to Somerset Eagles football team, while one member had charges dropped.
The Club, Somerset Bridge Recreation Club, three team players, three team officials and one security guard were all charged.
1. The committee found the Somerset Bridge Recreation Club GUILTY of the offence of failure to control their players and coaches and were fined $300.00.
2. Player Antwan Russell was found GUILTY of Head butting an opponent/foul language/fighting/offensive words and gestures to a spectator, the committee gave him an additional four match suspension and one year probation effective December 3rd 2009.
3. Head Coach Kenny Thompson was found GUILTY of the offence of Abusive behavior towards match officials/failure to control his bench for this offence, Thompson has been fined $150.00 and he s placed on probation for twelve months effective December 3rd, 2009.
4. Assistant Coach Maurice Lowe was found GUILTY of Abusive behavior towards the assistant referee, Lowe has been placed on probation for six months.
5. Player Johnny Bean was found NOT GUILTY of Abusive behavior towards the referee, the committee decided that Bean had no case to answer.
6. Player Steven Burrows was found GUILTY of foul/abusive language, gripping a crash helmet and approaching the referee in a threatening manner/busting into match officials changing room after the game in an abusive manner, Burrows was given an additional two match suspension and six month probation effective December 3rd, 2009.
7. Player Jumaane Davis was found GUILTY of using foul/abusive language, Davis was given one year probation effective December 3rd, 2009.
8. Manager Jose Bather was found GUILTY of the offence of using foul/abusive language towards match officials, Bather was handed a two match suspension and a fine of $150.00.
9. Security Guard Clifford Simmons was found GUILTY of the charge of foul/abusive language towards match officials/failure to do his job in escorting the officials to their dressing room and the completion of the match, Simmons was placed on probation for six months.
