Sailors to Compete in Cayman

Bermuda sailors will travel to the Cayman Islands in March 2010.

The Cayman Islands National Sailing Authority will host a Sailing Regatta, which will also represent a Youth Olympic Games Qualifier in the Byte C11 Dinghy class boat for young athletes who will be eligible to compete at the Singapore 2010 Inaugural Youth Olympic Games in August 2010.

According to a statement by the CIOC, these athletes must be born between 1 January 1994 and 31 December 1995.

The qualifier will be a regional event and will take place in the North Sound, from the C.I. Sailing Club in Red Bay. Competitors that have shown including Bermuda are Barbados, Canada, Cayman, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherland Antilles, St Lucia, the USA and Venezuela.
