Steede Resinged as Coach IslandStats.com Kwame Steede has resigned his position as the Head Coach of the Devonshire Cougars. speaking to www.islandstats.com Devonshire Recreation Club President Craig Clarke said, “Kwame called the Sports Chairman as expressed his desire to just concentrate on playing for Devonshire Cougars and through a mutual agreement we decided at this time it was best”.
“I think Steede was doing a excellent job with the team but I believe the pressure of coach & player was a bit much, I told him he would be welcome back to take over the team after his playing career is over as I feel he is an asset to the Devonshire Recreation Club”, continued Clarke.
Clarke went on to say, “Devonshire Recreation Club at this time is actively looking for a Head coach and we hope to have the position filled by the end of December, we have a game on Saturday Night against the Somerset Trojans and we will more than likely have one of the assistant coaches take over the role for the interim period.
“I have wish Steede could have been talked into staying on as a coach because I believe he has so much to offer, but if he feels he can help Devonshire Cougars more by just concentrating on playing than I and the Executive Committee at the club are 100% behind him”, concluded Clarke.
