Katrina Williams and the sixth-ranked Old Dominion women's sailing team finished with a solid sixth-place finish at the 23rd Women's Atlantic Coast Championships, hosted by Brown at the Edgewood Yacht Club on Narragansett Bay. Old Dominion battled a tough field that featured nearly every top-ranked team in the country.
There were six races held on the first day in north-northeast winds ranging from four to 10 knots. It rained most of the day and the current played a significant role in the racing. On day two, the wind died in the afternoon leading to only two races going into the record books for each division.
Stephanie Roble and Ashley Pellerito performed well in the A Division, garnering a fourth-place finish. The duo finished extremely strong, claiming top-five results in four of the final five races. Old Dominion only trailed Georgetown, Eckerd College and top-ranked Yale in the A Division.
Williams and Shannon Wilkins took home ninth in the B Division, posting a pair of top-five finishes.
