Bermuda Hogges 2 Western Mass Pioneers 2
Omar Shakir scored a 25 yard rocket in injury time of the second half to earn the Bermuda Hogges a share of the points at the National Sports Center.
The game got off to a flying start with Antwon Russell forcing the Pioneers goalkeeper James Thorne to make a save in the 4th minute, three minutes later Hogges goalkeeper Nigel Burgess was called upon to deny Edens Chery the games first goal. However two minutes later the visitors did take the lead when Almir Barbosa out jumped the Hogges defense to score from a Yan Klukowski corner.
The game soon settled down with both teams looking to gain some advantage, in the 31st minute Hogges striker Domico Codington had a header saved by the visitors goalkeeper, four minutes later Burgess was called upon again to saved a breakaway from Barbosa. The Hogges leveled the score in injury time in the first half when Johnny Ball followed up a Russell 20 yard free kick that Thorne failed to hold onto.
The second half saw very little in terms of attack from both teams as it was not until the 78th minute that either team came close to scoring when Coddington’s header flew just wide.
The Pioneers went back in front in the 84th minute when Barbosa scored from close range making the score 2 - 1, but just when it seemed the Hogges would go down for the ninth time this Shakir slammed home the equalizer.
