After ten minutes, Monarchs player Ryan Cordeiro had the ball in the net but the goal was ruled out for offside. Hogges striker Damico Coddington had a shot go wide. In the 15th minute Blenn Bean had a shot from deep tipped around the post by Monarchs goalkeeper Dave Kern. In the 32nd minute Hogges midfielder Stephen Astwood had his 25 yard shot tipped over the crossbar by Kern. With 39 minute gone off the clock, Antwan Russell had his shot from eight yards out go over off the crossbar. Astwood beat a defender and his cross was met by Russell who missed from close range.
Early in the second half Astwood watched Kern tip his free kick around the post for a corner. Victor Ramirez came close to breaking the deadlock when he was put through but his shot went over the crossbar with Hogges goalkeeper Jason Williams advancing. In the 72nd minute Russell had a close range header saved by Kern. In the 77th minute Domico CodingtonHogges into the lead, Astwood beat his defender wide and his cross was met by Coddington who rose to beat Kern from some eight yards out. In the 85th minute Monarchs player Tom Taylor had his shot saved off the line after beating Williams to a through ball.
