Avery Ritt scored twice and Jill Miller contributed a goal and three assists to spark number 9th ranked Phillipsburg, in the NJ.com Top 20, to a 5-3 victory over Sydney Fischer and her Blair Academy Women’s Field hockey teammates in Blairstown.
Brooke Beenders and Avery Butler added a goal apiece for Phillipsburg, which has won its first five games to start a season for the second straight year, a feat it had not accomplished since at least as far back as 2011.
Ella Gaitan scored twice, Milaw Clause connected on a pass from Fischer and Casey Kozelnik made seven saves for Blair.
