Maha Clarke and her Queens University of Charlotte Field Hockey teammates picked up a 3-2 overtime win over Bellarmine University giving them their second win of the year over Bellarmine.
A pair of goals from Bellarmine's Lillie Nitzken and Alex Hill at 5:19 and 14:24, respectively, put the visitors in front, 2-0, but Queens was able to close the gap to just one when Mazvita Mtisi scored in the 25th, and the 2-1 score would hold until the half.
Queens' Jocelyn Lawrence leveled the match in the 58th scoring after receiving a pass from Maya Forbes. Forbes would also take the final shot of regulation to try to win the match for Queens, but her shot was turned away by Bellarmine goalkeeper Heather Gregory.
Following a timeout by Bellarmine in the 79th, Mtisi would score the game-winner with 4:15 left to play in the first overtime period.
Queens edged Bellarmine in shots, 13-12, putting nine shots on goal to Bellarmine’s six. Childers completed play in the cage with four saves.
