Aram Tachejan´s goal with 24 seconds left in regulation time gave Armenia a dramatic 3-2 win over Bermuda during the 2017 World Ball Hockey Championships continued, sending the Armenians to the Semi-Finals.
The first period was quite balanced, and after 10 minutes the game saw the first goal from Armenia. Bermuda fought hard to score, but Armenian goalkeeper Jean-Francois Aumais blocked everything. That theme repeated itself in the second period, in which Armenia scored its second goal. The third period was in Bermuda´s hands, and they scored twice to tie it, Jeremy Estey and Christopher Hands Jackson found the back of the net for Bermuda but in the end it was Armenia celebrating the victory.
Bermuda Goalkeeper Yan Leclerc said, “We were prepared for this game, we really wanted to win this game. The boys shown a lot of character. Nobody get up, everybody kept going up. We had a very, very good third period, if which we scored two goals. We have shown here a really amazing team game.”
Mark Vartazarmian a defenseman of Team Armenia said, “It was tough game, we are really happy right now. We play very well in this tournament, we are improving our performances and participation in the medal game is a reward for us for all the work we have done here.”
