Indianapolis Racers 12 Phoenix Roadrunners 11
The Indianapolis Racers take a 1 – 0 Series lead over the Phoenix Roadrunners following their 12 – 11 win.
JM Tremblay led the way with 4 goals for the Indianapolis Racers, who also got 3 goals from Chris Merritt, 2 goals from Shane Mckay and single strikes from Mathieu Desjardins and Yan Leclerc. The Phoenix Roadrunners got hat-tricks from Bill Calko and Jeremy Estey, while Jacob Amlong scored twice, Warren Miller, Daniel Bordage and Shannon Goose all found the back of the once each.
New England Whalers 6 Houston Aeros 5
A hat-trick off the stick of Cameron Poland helped the New England Whalers record a 6 – 5 win over the Houston Aeros and take a 1 – 0 Series lead. Andrew Markus, Chad Cundliff and Jeffrey Ingleman all added a goal each, while the Houston Aeros got two goals from Andrew Curnow and Chris Grantier, while Ian Gouthro added the other.
