The New England Whalers defeated the Houston Aeros 7 - 5 in the opener, Cameron Poland led the New England Whalers to victory with a hat-trick, while Matthew Benson added two goals. Adam Mattatall and Andrew Markus added a goal each. Ian Beaudoin, Christopher Jackson, James Amaral, Greg Van Der Made and Ian Gouthro all scored a goal each for the Houston Aeros.
Indianapolis Racers 14 Phoenix Roadrunners 11
The nightcap produced twenty-five goals with the Indianapolis Racers defeating the Phoenix Roadrunners 14 - 11. Chriss Merritt scored seven times to lead the Indianapolis Racers to victory, while Mathieu Desjardins added 5 goals, Scott Ferguson and Mark Heintzman added a goal each. Jacob Amlong scored 4 times for the Phoenix Roadrunners, while Kyle Chisholm, Shannon Gosse and Melissa Morton all scored two goals each, with Ryan Wilson finding the back of the net once.
