8:30 pm on Friday Evening Bermuda Time, Erica Hawley took to the inaugural World Triathlon Cup in South Korea start line, 57 minutes and 53 seconds later she crossed the line in 13th place.
Today www.islandstats.com brings you comments from Hawley following the race.
Hawley said, “Ok lots to say about this one as I’m FREAKING EXCITED so I’m sorry.
First top 15 at a World Cup and first time in the money! Running down to the start I thought this might be a rough one…
The Swim was well I was expecting to come out close to last, I managed to get in the second chase pack and that meant I needed a good run to be in the mix at the end.
I ran a 17:27 which is over a minute Personal Best, and also a top 10 run on the day!
So yeah, I’m stoked to come away with 13th. Time to rest up and hopefully carry this momentum into Tongyeong next weekend.”
