Flora Duffy has begun the journey of getting to the startline for the 2020 Hamburg Triathlon.
With the Hamburg Wasser World Triathlon Elite Women’s race scheduled for September 5th, Duffy will put her final preparations for the race in Spain.
Duffy wrote on social media, “10 months in Stellenbosch....had only planned to stay for four! But now the great escape is happening. On my way to Europe for a few races.
Big thank you to family, friends, training partners & sponsors for helping to make this unusual time as positive as possible.
From starting off as an Olympic build - racing a 70.3 - broken hand - lockdown - postponed Olympics - to unsure when I would be able to leave SA.
Now let’s see what form a winter in stellenbosch has brought me.”
Duffy concluded, “Sad to leave but it’s time to race.”
