Tyler Butterfield competed in the IRONMAN European Championships in Frankfurt, Germany.
Butterfield finished 7th overall with a time of 8:38:58.
Butterfield had a good Swim and was 7th out of the water in 49:34, Butterfield then had a good Bike performance moving up to 6th clocking 4:33.30, Butterfield would experience a 2nd Transition time of 10 minutes!, he could hardly move with back pain, however Butterfield showed that guts and determination that he has been known for and went out and had a good decent run clocking 3:02:53.
Butterfield’s plan was to be attentive on the swim, attentive on the bike, and try to show his running legs after having prepared for the Commonwealth Games Marathon earlier this year.
Butterfield said, “Obviously, the priority for the coming weeks/months will be fixing the back problem, but overall I am super happy to of made it to the finish in 7th overall.”
