The Bermuda Half Marathon Derby Committee has postponed the opening of the Bermuda Day Half Marathon Derby race registration until May 1st.
Posting on Social Media, “Please be advised that the Derby committee has made the decision to postpone the opening of race registration until May 1st, and will reassess the situation at that time.”
The post goes on to state, “It is still the hope that this race will be able to take place as scheduled on May 28th. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.”
Registration for this year's Bermuda Half Marathon Derby was to be open on April 1st, with the expectation of a 'Limited Edition' of participants capped at 450 Half Marathon runners and 100 Relay runners (25 teams).
The Half Marathon event currently is scheduled to start at 8:30 am in St. Georges, and runners will be assigned to waves. The relay is scheduled to kick off at approximately 8:50 am.
