Trey Simons and four of his Morehouse College Cross Country teammates finished in the Top 20 and lifted Morehouse to its second straight SIAC Cross Country Championship.
The Championship was the 22nd for Morehouse College in 24 years.
Head Coach Willie H. Hill was named the 2017 SIAC Coach of the Year.
Tops among all runners was Morehouse's Simons who has finished first overall in five of five races this season.
Simons, a four-time SIAC Runner of the Week, cruised over the 8K course in 25:18, finishing ahead of Central State's Emmanuel Birgens, at 24:02, and teammate Collins Kiplimo, in third, at 26:08.7.
Randy Carter took the third spot for Morehouse and seventh overall, with a time of 27:09.9. Devin Hawkins pulled in the 12th overall position and fourth for the 'House. Finishing 19th was Qaseem Wajd snagging the fifth Morehouse scoring spot, in a time of 28:50.3.
Morehouse's 42 points outdistanced Albany State's 59 points and Benedict's 64. After that, there was a steep drop-off in scoring, with LeMoyne-Owen, at 116 points.
Simons, was named to the All-SIAC Team.
