For the second consecutive week, Morehouse Cross Country runner Trey Simons was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Male Runner of the Week.
Simons finished first in the Winthrop/Adidas 33rd Invitational Men's 8K race, hosted by Winthrop University, in Rock Hill, SC. He crossed the line with a time of 25:08.8.
Sophomore Simons led a field of 118 runners and recorded an average mile time of 5:03.5.
Morehouse finished second out of eight teams, with an average time of 28:07 and placed four runners in the top 20.
Last week, Simons took second overall among 41 Division II runners and helped Morehouse to a second-place finish, at the University of Georgia Invitational cross country meet. Four Morehouse runners finished in the top eight of that race.
