Juma Mouchette and his Virginia State University (VSU) Men's Cross Country teammates hosted their VSU Fall Opener at Rogers Stadium.
Traveling 8k course through the city of Petersburg were the Falcons of St. Augustine's University, the Panthers of Virginia Union University (VUU) and the Trojans of VSU.
The men took to the course at 4:45pm with no hesitation in the 98 degree weather.
Senior Mouchette led Virginia State University with a time of 34:13, giving him the third place finish.
Rounding out the top 10 finishes for VSU was sophomore Steven Murdock with a time of 38:17 and freshman Damarco Walker with a time of 39:09.
VUU took the first place overall finish with 18 points, while the Virginia State University finished second with a solid score of 41. The Falcons wrapped up the season opener in third with a score of 67.
