The 2015/16 Road Race Season kicked off with the Annual Labor Day 5 Mile Race. Chase Smith and Nicole Andreasen are the 5 Mile Champions, while Iziah Tucker and Jade Johnston are the Junior Male and Female Champions.
Smith who in years gone by has not finished this particular race set an early pace and cruised home with a time of 28:48, Akim Johnston was second with a time of 34:28 and Jahmai Lottimore was third in 34:51.
Andreasen was the 15th runner to cross the line with a time of 40:10, while the second female finisher Tammy Hall was right behind her clocking 40:19, Jenene Douglas was the third female finisher and 24th overall with a time of 43:51.
Tucker clocked 7:47 over the 1.5 Mile Junior Course to take the title, with Jake Brislane in a time of 8:23 and Yari Tucker finished third with a time of 8:24.
The top three females finished 5th, 6th and 7th, Johnston crossed the line in 9:32, while Kimora Rubaine was next in 9:51 and Zahra Wilson was the third female clocking 9:56.
