Countdown to Princess to Princess 2014

Fairmont Hotels Bermuda and the Mid Atlantic Athletic Club (MAAC) today announced that the 37th Annual Fairmont to Fairmont Race will be held on Sunday January 5th, 2014. The race takes runners on a 7.2 mile course between the Fairmont Hamilton Princess and The Fairmont Southampton and is considered the beginning of the running year, attracting competitors from across the globe. The Fairmont to Fairmont Race also includes a 3-member team relay and a Junior 3K race. In 2014, a new walking category has been introduced, opening up the 7.2 mile competition to competitive walkers.

The Fairmont to Fairmont Race will take the competitors from the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel, along Front Street, East Broadway, The Lane, Harbour Road, Burnt House Hill, Middle Road and up The Fairmont Southampton Driveway before finishing at The Fairmont Southampton’s Private Beach Club.

2013 saw Chris Estwanik and Ashley Estwanik win the adult male and female categories respectively, while the junior winners were: Iziah Tucker and Jessica Marshall (8-10); Alex Pilgrim and Lynsey Parmer (11-12); and Jahmari Sutton and Amanda Foy (13-15). Relay teams “One and Two Half Men” and “Don’t You Wish You Did” captured the male and female relay honors, while “Tri Hard” won the mixed relay race.

In 2014, the main draw prize is a 3 night stay at The Fairmont Battery Wharf in Boston including airfare for two on JetBlue. There are prizes for the top male & female finishers of the Junior 3K in the following age brackets: 8-10; 11-12; and 13-15. The Fairmont to Fairmont Relay Race will award prizes for the top finishers in the male, female, and mixed categories. The adult Fairmont to Fairmont Running Race has prizes for the top male and female finishers in the following categories: under 20; 21-30; 31-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60 & over; and 70 & over. Winning male and female walkers will win prizes, as well as the top tourists, and the winning Fairmont employees. A variety of spot prizes will also be awarded.
